The mission of the ECO denomination is to “build flourishing churches that make disciples of Jesus Christ.” Our denomination seeks to create a “culture of multiplication” where disciples make disciples, and churches plant churches.

Not only is church planting an essential part of any strategy to reach communities with the gospel of Jesus Christ, but it is also an essential part of being a flourishing church. As a church, our own history has shown that the times when Memorial was planting churches, we experienced periods of growth and flourishing.

Last year, we were presented with an opportunity to support and invest in a new ECO church plant – The Grove Church in Port Saint Lucie under the leadership of Pastor David Hancock. Indian River Presbyterian Church is the sending church and was at one point also a church plant of Memorial Presbyterian Church.

Our Session agreed to support The Grove Church for two years. In 2018, we made an immediate investment of $10,000. For this year, we would like to issue a challenge to our brothers and sisters in the Presbytery of Florida to come alongside Memorial, First Pres North Palm and Indian River in supporting The Grove Church and their wonderful ministry. To that end, Memorial will match any gifts from sister Florida congregations for a total up to $10,000. We feel that supporting each other in and of itself is an act of faith helping us continue to growing internally and externally. No gift is too small! Church planting is something in which we can all participate. Please join us in continuing to support The Grove Church!
